Tax Clerk/Administrative Assistant (Lucasfilm) (San Francisco )
Job Description:
Position Summary:
We are looking for an inquisitive up-beat tax professional who would like to build their expertise in ALL areas of tax including federal, multi-state, international, property, sales and use, value added, payroll and even in cross-border transfer pricing.
Primary Responsibilities:
o Provide general administrative support specific to the tax department's needs including:
o Prepare basic tax forms and assist in the preparation of more complex tax forms
o Provide word processing, document proofing and other document preparation support
o Data Entry into Excel spreadsheets and other reports
o Access database management and sorting
o Develop MS PowerPoint presentations
o Coordinate off-site and on-site tax records filing and storage as well as understand other
departments' filing systems to source needed records (e.g. A/P, Legal, etc.)
o Organize and maintain traditional and electronic administrative subject matter and files as
directed by tax practice personnel.
o Provide strong customer service, pay meticulous attention to detail, provide initiative and keen organization skills are a must.
o Screen calls with proper telephone etiquette;
o Maintain contract log to track tax review status on contracts
o Organize and maintain tax library
o Process and mail tax filings: including federal and state income tax returns, estimates and extensions.
o Operate office machines or equipment regularly including computer, printer, copier and fax machine
o Document certain routine tax procedures
o Assist with meeting coordination and follow up
o Assist management team with day-to-day communication: route correspondence, packages, faxing and other tasks, as needed
Requirements:
Education, Experience and Skills:
o Solid knowledge of the MS Office Product Suite including Excel and Access Database
o Hands-on experience with tax return processing software and the preparation of tax returns.
o Ability to run reports from Oracle accounting and TM1 Financial Reporting Software
o An inquisitive mind and a desire to advance your career in tax is a must.
Physical Requirements:
Be able to lift records boxes up to 50 lbs in weight
